COMMUNITY PROJECT

St Margaret's Church

When the local community banded to rescue their local church from demolition, Mesh were commissioned to advise not only on the most economic long-term heating strategy with a feasibility study but also the best interim strategy to keep them going as winter was fast approaching.

Mesh Energy provided figures to inform funding applications and gave practical advice for the architect led community group as they developed their plan for the church.

Key for this project was underfloor heating throughout the ground floor to provide a flexible future proof space for the variety of uses that the community group envisioned. An air source heat pump paired with the underfloor heating gave the best balance of running cost reduction and initial capital costs to provide sustainable heat.
