RIBA 2030 CLIMATE CHALLENGE

RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge

What is the 2030 Climate Challenge?

The RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge framework sets out a vision for the rest of the decade to reduce energy, embodied carbon and water usage by up to 70% as well as dramatically improving health and well being in modern buildings and homes.

As a team of expert low-energy consultants, Mesh Energy is perfectly positioned to help you achieve these targets.

Not only do we understand, analyse and achieve RIBA 2030 design, but we also take particular care to balance out the various opportunities and trade-offs that come with this next level of building design.

We ensure a greater bias is put on early-stage collaborative design to make sure the project robustly and effortlessly meets the desired target at an acceptable cost. To give you a head start at the very earliest stages of conceptual design, Mesh has developed an embodied carbon calculator which is simple to use.

This tool is absolutely brilliant. It will help immensely in those initial design stages. Really invaluable tool to be putting out there. Thank you for letting us trial it.

I found the report you produced and the service provided for our small pavilion extremely helpful and informative. You did a great job in explaining heating options available which helped my understanding and made it easier to discuss options with the clients. I did let everyone in our office know and circulated your report, as I think other projects might benefit from the same input or the more in-depth consultation.

How we work with your client

Mesh understands that the client is the keystone to any successful low-energy build. Through our ‘no-pressure’ approach, we’re happy to speak to clients in the first instance to find out what their aspirations and priorities are. In order to provide the best value to your client we put together bespoke support packages to get them exactly where they want to be. Once actively working with the client, we involve them in discussions and recommendations to ensure the highest level of understanding and confidence as the project progresses.

Snug Architects

When Totton-based architects set about extending their main office and adding another storey, Mesh were commissioned to advise on how the new addition and refurbished building would successfully meet RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge targets.

Southampton County Council

Mesh were approached by HNW architects, Southampton County Council and Aecom to help develop a sustainable housing plan for the next 10,000 homes being constructed by the Council. Particular  assistance was needed with determining the right progressive and practical standard to follow and then working with the group to design a typical home that could mee the standard.
