Strawbale Eco House, Petersfield

This straw bale new build located in a heavily wooded site is at its early stages of development. A funky wedge design maximises local woodland views and uses orientations that could maximise solar gain helping generate on site electricity. The hybrid straw bale construction will help produce almost passive house levels of insulation.

Our technology feasibility service offering has been utilised to help determine site wide heat loss and feasibility of wide range of low carbon solutions.

The project is currently considering:

  • Ground source heat pump
  • Air source heat pump
  • Biomass using onsite woodland
  • Ultra-low temperature underfloor heating
  • Solar PV installation
