Paragraph 79 Eco Home, Water Lily House

Water Lily House is a totally unique floating low energy home is at the early stages of a paragraph 79 application. The house sits delicately on the surface of the water in a disused reservoir site. Requiring exceptional architecture and high eco credentials for this unique family home, Mesh were asked to undertake a site wide pre-planning feasibility report looking at the best energy strategy.

The home, shaped like a lily pad is formed into angular pods and will use energy from the water and sun to power the home in its entirety. A innovate floating Solar PV array on its own island will harvest the suns energy through the day whilst a tethered ground source heat pump using a submersible heat exchange pod will efficiency gather natural energy in the water all year round for heating and hot water production in the home.

Mesh is assisting AR Design in preparing required material for the Design Review Panel meeting and subsequent system design. The project continues…
